Just before I went back to work yesterday, The Good Guy IM'd me to say hi and see how my day was going. I told him it was going well and asked how his was. After a few minutes of chit-chat he mentioned that he tried to call me a few times over the weekend but my phone kept going straight to voice mail. He doesn't strike me as a liar, he's too timid, so I am inclined to believe him.
So today I went back to attempting to figure out how to talk to this man (and hating the fact that I can talk to BFF so easily and feel so awkward trying to talk to my own darn boyfriend). Things that need to be discussed: A) He doesn't seem to go out of his way to spend time with me. B) He isn't very affectionate in front of his friends. I know, you may assume that means he's not into me. That's not it, he's just very shy and very inexperienced. I don't think he knows how to be a boyfriend. Guess that counts as numero C.
This morning's IM was surprisingly hopeful:
The Good Guy: Hopefully this weekend will be better for things.
Me: This weekend is actually pretty busy for me.
Me: My sister-in-law is on my back to spend a day with them because I haven't in so long. Then BFF and I are supposed to go somewhere for a day and work on club stuff.
The Good Guy: Aw
The Good Guy: Well, I don't want to keep you from things.
The Good Guy: We'll find some time
Me: You always say that.
Me: Wishful thinking. :(
The Good Guy: Yeah
The Good Guy: Hey, tonight's something I suppose.
Me: Grrrr. My friend just reminded me that she invited some friends to her place Friday night.
The Good Guy: Aw
The Good Guy: Looks like this week is pretty full-up
Me: I'm sure you're invited Friday.
The Good Guy: Well, there's tomorrow for game night. That's not especially personal hang-out time either though.
Me: I know.
Me: Especially when I don't get to sit next to you. :(
Me: Yeah
The Good Guy: I'll try and get better seating next time.
Well, I've had about four or five hours of sleep a night for the past two nights and I am exhausted! However, as you may have read above, tonight it the first time I'll see The Good Guy in a week and, at least for now, I want to try to make this work. I just hope I don't fall asleep during you-know-what! Rather, I hope I don't fall asleep during fore-play as you-know-what doesn't seem to be an option just yet.

No worries, as far as I know, a chemical similar to adrenaline is released during you-know-what, and instead of boosting every cell in your body, it just helps to improve concentration, waking nerves that can be pleasured and overall drive to finish suppressing your urges.
I notice myself fully vigilant during you-know-what no matter how hard my day has been or how little sleep I’ve gotten.
But just in case, have some coffee.
